Review: MotoGP 09/10
There are two genres of video games that I rarely play – Real Time Strategy (RTS) games and licensed sports games. I say licensed because I do play sports games like SSX Tricky and racing games like Project Gotham. MotoGP 09/10 is a licensed motorcycle racing title that includes the 18 Grand Prix races across 14 countries as well as the bikes, teams, and rosters of the 2009 and soon, the 2010 MotoGP season. MotoGP 09/10 delivers a deep and involved motorcycle racing game that is a must have for MotoGP and racing fans everywhere.
Review: Final Fight Double Impact
First off, it’s important that the reader know that I have played Final Fight front to back in the arcade several times. I used to have a machine at work and after hours we were allowed to play the game with company quarters. Even more important, I have never heard of Magic Sword. These are the two games featured in Final Fight: Double Impact.
Preview: MotoGP 09/10
Along with Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Dark Void, Capcom was also showing MotoGP 09/10, a Grand Prix motorcycle racing game. The nomenclature of 09/10 is special since the game features something that most sports games don’t – the ability to download the 2010 season’s race tracks, riders, and rider info and stats without having to wait until the season is over to enjoy. There will be one additional track along with the new rider stats and outfits as free DLC. There will be other pay DLC options as well and all will be available in the MotoGP store for download.
Preview: Dark Void
Norm and I took a trip to the offices of fortyseven to check out a few titles coming from Capcom in the next few months. I’ve been following Dark Void since CES 2009 and the game is due to come out this January. We sat down with the game’s producer, Morgan Gray, as he gave us a fun, more in-depth run through of the upcoming game.
Review: Diner Dash (PSN/XBLA)
Diner Dash is one of those crazy casual game phenomenons that will have all gamers – casual and hardcore alike – in a frenzy trying to complete each level’s goal by serving the customer’s every whim. The game has been around since about 2003 and has been on virtually every platform imaginable. Diner Dash made its console debut in November 2009 with releases on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and will find it’s way to the Wii via WiiWare by the end of this year.
Product Review: Rock Band Drum Silencers
drum silencersWhen I play drums in Rock Band, I hit them pretty hard. I really like to get into it, and get carried away at times playing some of the more difficult tracks. The loud repetitive tapping of me hitting notes like mad is not only annoying to others, but can cause them to follow my beat, even when it’s off.
That is exactly what PDP was hoping for when the marketed their Universal Drum Silencers. I am happy to report that they work exactly as advertised, and in fact, improved my drum set look and feel.
