Review: Soul Calibur V
The next installment in the Soul Calibur series, Soul Calibur V, is here with a handful of old and new characters, new stages, and some notable changes to the battle system. The game takes place 17 years after the events in Soul Calibur IV. The story portion of the game follows Patroklos and Pyrrha, the son and daughter of Sophitia and nephew and niece of Cassandra.

Review: Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
Super Street Fighter IV for the Nintendo 3DS is the definitive handheld fighter. It offers great graphics, good control, and most of the modes offered in the console release. It also integrates very functional online support. If you own the 3DS and enjoyed the Street Fighter 2 glory days, you owe it to yourself to pick this game up.
Review: Acceleration of Suguri X Edition
Acceleration of Suguri X Edition is what you would get when you mix a fighting game with a 2D side-scrolling shooter game like Bangai-O Spirits or Gradius. AoSXE features seven (and a few unlockables) little anime-style robot girls who fight to save the world and fight each other over pudding. Yes, pudding.

Review: Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a through-and-through fun game. While the game is a sequel, the mashup of Marvel and Capcom characters in a chaotic tag team-based fighter still feels fresh. That’s in no small part due to new characters, but also solid presentation, an online presence, and a near-endless array of fighting possibilities. To boot, it’s also the most accessible game in Capcom’s Vs. line of games.

Preview Day: Namco Bandai’s Upcoming Lineup
Last Wednesday was Namco Bandai day as Norm and I drove up to LA to the beautiful Sofitel Hotel to see Namco Bandai’s upcoming Fall and early 2011 line up. It was an impressive collection of games ranging from family fun to bloody gorefests! We got a hands-on with quite a few games including: Enslaved: [...]

Review: Samurai Shodown Sen
Samurai Shodown Sen is the eleventh installment in the Samurai Shodown series and the fourth 3D version. It is also the first to receive a Mature rating. The game features weapon based fighting with special attacks and a Rage meter to spice things up. I have a love/hate relationship with fighting games – I love to play them, but I really hate to have to learn a lot of complicated moves. Samurai Shodown Sen doesn’t have a lot of tricky button combos, but it can get very frustrating at times especially when playing the Story and Survival modes. However, when played against a human competitor, the game is a lot of fun.

Preview: Super Street Fighter IV
We sat down with Seth Killian from Capcom last Thursday to preview Super Street Fighter IV, and to test drive the new character, Hakan. They have definitely listened to the fans who have responded to Street Fighter IV, because they have improved many things about the game from the smallest detail up to some larger changes, like improving the difficulty levels of the game.
